Llŷn Photography

Introduction

Llŷn Photography is the result of one of my passions; outdoor photography and may, one day, result in a fully blown eCommerce site selling prints over the internet.

UK Horse Racing

Introduction

Horse racing is a passion of ours; not only because of the pleasure of being at a Downlands course on a warm summer's day or somewhere in the depths of winter watching wonderful horseflesh tackle the obstacles of National Hunt racing. One of the greatest challenges with horse racing is the ongoing problem solving which each race throws up.

About The Site

Most of the site is pure HTML even though almost every page has the .asp suffix. One of the reasons why the site has been written for ASP and hosted on an IIS server is that it makes server side includes for the headings and the contents lists that much easier to handle.

There are three places where ASP is used within the site. These are in the Chat Page and the Links Page. These are discussed on this site (here for the Chat Page and here for the Links page).

A part of the daily update of the site is that a number of hidden ASP pages exist which are present only to receive data from an HTTP message in the form of XML documents. When these pages receive these XML files various databases on the site are updated.

The UK Horse Racing site is a collection of various web technologies which, when all placed together, produce a very sophisticated web system.

Puzzlewood

Introduction

This is a web site for a large woodland tourist attraction within the Forest of Dean.

My Rail Trip

Introduction

This is a rather stylised website for a travel company who wished to have an existing site converted to CSS and to have various problems which plagued the current site solved.

About The Site

Converting the site to CSS solved issues with menus not working, the layout being broken on some common browsers and the opportunity was taken to make some of the forms look more attractive than before.

Cambrian Arts

Introduction

A rather simple, but elegant site, designed to show off the artist's artwork.

About The Site

The site is a simple site with a maximum of one image to a page and has been built by HTML and CSS.
